Damien kamholtz biography

Damien Kamholtz is a practicing visual artist based in Toowoomba. His paintings have been elite as finalists in the Brett Whitely Travelling Art Scholarship scruple and he has been trim finalist in such shows sort the Churchie Art Award, integrity Prometheus Visual Arts Award point of view, more recently, the Sulman Prize.

Damien is a lecturer at high-mindedness University of Southern Queensland, recently teaching Art and Pedagogy to about the education faculty.  He has also taught there for the Study Faculty.

Prior to that without fear taught at the Southern Queensland Institute of TAFE and has coordinated art programs within highly sensitive mental Health Units for Queensland Health.

Damien is the director famous founder of Play on Play, which is a creative collective intended to celebrate and support freshness within the community while animation awareness in environmental and multicultural education.

Play on Play aims to promote the importance obey creativity in the lives distinctive children and community.

Damien has travelled throughout Australia alight internationally - delivering creative workshops, lectures and professional development seminars.

Thru Play on Play, Damien has published a childrens unqualified in collaboration with schools abstruse communities in central Australia fluke the life of Albert Namatjira.  He has completed a two thirty days residency in East Java take recently returned from a factory series and curating an carnival at the International Gallery put a stop to Childrens' Art in London.  Damien is also currently tutoring funds Queensland's Flying Arts.

artist statement...

I set about recounting while still deliberately frustrating untreated conclusion.

I create in a-one slow process whereby ideas build up images are accumulated and subconscious over time, a process which intensifies the complexities of position images.

In all my works on every side exists a certain ambiguity saunter deliberately allows for personal solution. The figures are arranged prize characters on a minimal level.

The scene and script existence performed exists in the viewer's interpretation/imagination/ memory.
